About the Maker
Lynette Johnson
I'm a lifelong sewist, crafter, creative, dabbler, and maker. My second career was in graphic design, and I won a few small awards along the way for that work. From 2010-2026 (my third career), I worked in sustainability, and for the last 10 of those years ran a national nonprofit focused on reducing food waste and feeding hungry people in the US.
That work in sustainability pushed me to look at resource utilization and consumerism generally, thinking about creative reuse of existing resources. During COVID, I used up my entire fabric stash making masks for the local hospital and nursing homes. And at that point, I got serious about reusing, reclaiming, and repurposing materials.
My hope is that you'll find the things I make and share to be beautiful, useful, and earth-friendly.
In real life, I live in rural Southwest Virginia at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in a wonderful old house (c. 1890) where something always needs fixing.
